The Flamingo Poker Room

The Poker Room At The Flamingo

Flamingo Poker VegasThe Flamingo is one of the oldest casinos and resorts on the Las Vegas strip and while its location is in the middle of the strip, it still gets consistent traffic. Hobby poker players will like this room since they will be able to find a table that is spread in an amount they can afford. There is only a railing between the room and the slots, but it has a great atmosphere regardless.

The ten tables at the Flamingo are in a well ventilated and well lit area. The bar is right next door and the cocktail waitresses troll the room for player’s orders. The location at the southern end of the casino used to be noisy but the management moved a large bank of the slot machines away from the separation railing which made it quieter. The tables are nice, but average with built in drink holders and comfortable chairs. The dealers are friendly and well-versed in the different varieties offered at the tables.

Flamingo Poker Games

Catering to low-limit poker games, Texas Hold’Em is the main game in the poker room. $2/$4 limit Texas Hold’Em is the most popular game, but $4/$8 limit Hold’Em will be spread if there are enough players. There is on average at least one $1 and $2 blinds on no limit Texas Hold’Em and if there is enough interest, players can find a Seven Card Stud game with a $1/$5 spread. Peak hours are busy but no the point where there is any type of long wait.

The Flamingo offers some great bonuses on their cash games which include a high hand jackpot for four-of-a-kind or better. Prizes start at $60. Wednesdays from 4am to 4pm has the Aces Cracked bonus starting with a $50 prize. There is a loyalty comp bonus of $1 per hour in the poker room which awards the player with food comps.

The casino’s poker room offers daily tournaments at 10am and at 6pm on Sunday through Thursday. A $65 buy-in gets the player $1,500 in chips. 10% of the field is paid out and the more players that join the game, the bigger the final pot. Frequent members to The Flamingo can qualify for the poker room’s monthly free roll. All that is needed is sixty hours of play in the course of the month. The prized for the free roll is $3,000. There is a $4/$8 Omaha Hi/Lo tournament with a $40 buy-in on Thursdays nights at 10pm, and a $1/$2 Pot Limit Omaha tournament on Saturday nights at 7pm. An additional H.O.S.E. tournament is available on Tuesdays at 4pm and this mixed game tournament includes Texas Hold’Em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, and Eights-Or-Better Seven Card Stud. The spread on this game is $4/$8 limit game with a $40 buy-in.

The games at The Flamingo’s tables are great for players of all skill levels and bankrolls although the low limit tables are good for beginners trying to learn the game. The bonuses are good and players get some good experience at this poker room before moving on to one of the other poker rooms on the strip.
