The Monte Carlo Poker Room

Poker at the Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo PokerThe poker room at the Monte Carlo is another recently revamped establishment that players on the Vegas circuit really enjoy. The recent fire at the casino has not caused any diminishment of traffic and play and anyone who enjoys a good game of Texas Hold’Em will appreciate the atmosphere here.

The poker card room at this high-class resort is located at the back of the casino floor close to the parking garage entrance and sports book. This nine table room gives players the impression of being in an old-fashioned British Pub. It is decorated with dark wood paneling and funny poker paintings. Yes, you may actually find paintings of the infamous poker dogs here in this room. The tables include automatic shufflers and cup holders, but if you are sitting in the number ten seat, be careful where you keep your chips. The dealer’s toke is right next to you and some players have had them accidentally knocked into the toke which causes a bit of an awkward situation. Wait time during peak hours is between fifteen minutes and a half hour.

The room is smoke free and well proportioned and the dealers and wait staff are efficient and well-trained. The staff also offers lessons in poker twice a day and if you are wearing your cell phone when you sit down at the table, you better make sure it is turned off. The Monte Carlo has strict rules about cell phones and their use in the poker room.

Monte Carlo Poker Games

Games spread at the Monte Carlo include Texas Hold’Em and Seven Card Stud. Limit Hold’Em starts at $2/$4 with a $2.00 blind, $3/$6, $4/$8 with a $1/$2 blind, and no limit Hold’Em with $1/$2 and $2/$5. There is also a $1/$5 Seven Card Stud table available. Thursday nights at this cardroom offer a regular $4/$8 HORSE event to offset the many Texas Hold’Em games being played. Bonuses for cash games include a high hand bonus for hands of four-of-a-kind or higher. Prizes range between $100 and $2,000.

There are daily no limit Texas Hold’Em tournaments at 9am and 6pm. Buy-ins for these two tournaments is $40 + $10 and $50 + $10 respectively. There are no add-ons available. There are also three sit ‘n’ go tournaments at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.

Comps at the Monte Carlo include a $6.00 food coupon for every four hours of play. These can be used at buffet of coffee shop. Discount room rates are available for every five hour of poker play in the room.

Currently there is construction occurring at the CityCenter which has the parking for the Monte Carlo a mess. If you happen to visit Las Vegas and wish to play at the Monte Carlo, you may want to park somewhere else and walk to the resort. This will save both wear and tear on your vehicle and your nerves. There are also some great restaurants at the Monte Carlo, but between the construction and the repairs from the fire, you may wish to consider an alternative location until all of the work is finished.
