Planet Hollywood Poker Room

Planet Hollywood Casino Poker

Planet Hollywood PokerVisitors to Las Vegas can no longer go for a magic carpet ride at Aladdin’s. Instead, they get to go play at Planet Hollywood, located in the former Aladdin’s Casino and Resort. While the inside of the establishment was simply refurbished and all traces of the Ali Baba theme gone, the main structural elements of the building have remained the same. It simply got one heck of a nice face lift.

The poker room at Planet Hollywood is new and located towards the front of the casino proper. With twelve tables, the atmosphere of the room is relaxed and comfortable. The chairs are plush and you can lean back and enjoy the action on the table before you. The dealers are friendly and know their job and they have the skills to sort out any situation pertaining to the game before it gets out of control. They do offer poker lessons at 9am on a daily basis, so if you want to learn the game, you’ve got your chance. On the weekends, expect a thirty minute wait because this room is very popular already.

Planet Hollywood Poker Games and Limits

The games spread here at Planet Hollywood is limit Texas Hold’Em at $2/$, $3/$6, and $4/$8. The $3/$6 limit has a kill game available. The no limit Texas Hold’Em games has a $1/$2 and $2/$5 and $5/$10 blinds. Buy-ins is $50/$200, $200/$500, and $500 with no maximum respectively. The $1/$2 staked game runs daily, the rest if there is interest. If there are enough players showing interest, the dealers will spread Omaha and Seven Card Stud.

Planet Hollywood Poker Tournaments

Tournaments are held on a daily basis with a variety of stakes on the no limit Texas Hold’Em spread game. Players need to register to play in the daily games and any add-ons to the stakes will be taken at registration. The tournaments start at 10:00am, 2:00pm, 7:00pm, and 2:00am. Each one has a $50 buy-in with a single $10 add-on for a total of 2,500 chips.

Planet Hollywood has a great opportunity for its players. Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, one of poker’s greats, sits at the tables at Planet Hollywood. Anyone who wishes to challenge him and collect the $300 bounty on his head can play against him in one of the Sunday through Friday tournaments. These no limit Texas Hold’Em games has an entry fee of $110 for $1,500 in chips with a $10 add on for another $1,000 of chips. Tuesday nights is the ‘Ladies Night’ tournaments. A Breakfast Club shootout tournament is offered at 10:00am Mondays through Thursdays and the High Hand games are on Mondays through Thursdays at 10am.

The poker room and the casino itself are still pretty new and players are still getting a feel for the entire environment at Planet Hollywood. So far, the atmosphere is fun and inviting, the way a good casino and resort in Las Vegas should be. It will take a little more time before a good evaluation on one of Vegas’ newest attractions can be made with any accuracy. Hopefully, they’ll add more poker varieties for their player’s enjoyment.
