The Treasure Island Poker RoomPoker At Treasure Island
The poker cardroom at Treasure Island has eight live action tables that are staffed with dealers, managers, and wait personnel twenty-four hours a day. There are seven widescreen televisions all around the room for players to keep an eye on the sports action. The room is non-smoking – as most in Vegas now are – and the tables are well kept with comfortable chairs. However, all of that compares to the games offered in this particular poker room. Treasure Island Poker Games and LimitsTreasure Island has one of the larger selections of poker variations on the Las Vegas Strip. They spread Texas Hold’Em, Omaha Hi, Crazy Pineapple, Badugi, and their very own Tangerine Mixer. If there is enough interest at the table, the house will spread other variations, such as Stud games. Limit Texas Hold’Em stakes at $2/$4, $4/$8 or higher is there is interest, and the no limit stakes at $1/$3, $2/$5, and $5/$10. Omaha Hi limit games have $4/$8 blinds and the pot limit has $1/$2 and $3/$6 blinds. Crazy Pineapple is played like Texas Hold’em except players get three cards, one of which is discarded after the flop. Blinds for the limit game are $4/$8. Badugi stakes at $3/$6 only and is a four-card, triple-draw, low-ball poker variation where the Ace is low and the best hand is 4, 3, 2, Ace with all four suits being represented. The house specialty game Tangerine Mixer is played with $3/$6 stakes and hands start with Texas Hold’Em, go to Omaha Hi, then to Crazy Pineapple, and any other poker variation as requested by the players at the table. The tournaments at this card room are no limit Texas Hold-Em events. They are held at 2am, 7am, 11am, 2pm, 7pm, and 10pm. The buy-in is $60 for $2,000 in chips with no re-buys but alternates are allowed up to the 1st break. $5 add-on for an additional $1,000 in chips is available at the 1st break. The rounds are in twenty minute segments. The blinds on these tournaments start at $25/$50 and go up to $3,000/$6,000 by the end of the third round. Players through position 11 will receive some percentage of payout. There are sit-n-go tournaments available upon request. The poker room here is non-smoking and players can get lessons by inquiring with the poker manager. The comps are pretty good as well. $2.00 per hour with no minimum hour requirement is good for all the food and beverage outlets at the casino. Plus, accommodations are discounted when the combined total of poker play for all the guests in one hotel room reach six hours Sunday through Thursday and eight hours Friday and Saturday.
