Charles Memminger is a national award-winning newspaper humor columnist, author and screenwriter living in Honolulu, Hawaii, with wife, Margie, daughter, Sarah, dog, Boomer and various geckos, mongooses and island creatures.

His column, Honolulu Lite, which runs in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, has twice been named top humor column in the country by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists for newspapers under 100,000 circulation.

His new book, "Hey, Waiter, There's An Umbrella In My Drink!" was published by Watermark Publishing and contains blurbs of support from the likes of legendary travel writer and novelist Paul Theroux, A.J. Jacobs, editor-at-large of Esquire Magazine and Wally "The Cookie Man" Amos. He also is the author of the book, "Hey, Tourist, Buy This Book!" and was the only writer in Hawaii to contribute to "Chicken Soup for the Soul of America," written in honor of those who perished in the 9-11 attacks.

His humorous essays and columns have been distributed by the New York Times News Service and he has been published in Newsweek, Better Homes & Gardens, OMNI and other national publications. He also is an award-winning screenwriter who was staff writer on "Baywatch Hawaii," the most popular TV show of all time which was canceled shortly after he was hired to write for it. He claims that was just a coincidence.
