The purpose of this page is to provide daily updated links to poker news articles. This is not an indiscriminate list of headlines or links. The only poker news headlines I link to from this page are the ones I find particularly interesting or notable. So this is basically poker news filtered through Randy Ray's viewpoint.

Poker News - November 3, 2007

New York Times
A shooting at a poker club in NYC leaves a retired mathematician dead. I hate seeing news like this.

Poker News - November 2, 2007

Gambling 911
Claims that Absolute Poker could become the safest poker room online after this debacle. One of the sillier pieces they've published yet. Gambling 911 is almost a parody of a gambling news site. They've been called the National Enquirer of gambling, but they remind me more of the Weekly World News.

Cardplayer
High Stakes Poker sets another record. The November 5, 2007 episode will have $5 million on the table. Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Jamie Gold, Sammy Farha, David Benyamine, Barry Greenstein, Patrick Antonius, and Guy Laliberte will be playing.

Poker News - October 31, 2007

Happy Halloween! Here's the poker news today:

Associated Press
Harvard lawyer Charless Nesson forms the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society and wants the US government to overturn or amend the UIGEA law. Nesson is known for defending the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers, and he was the subject of a movie called A Civil Action. There is also some interesting commentary in Reason magazine about how we shouldn't try to legalize vices by claiming that they're uplifting.

Poker News - October 30, 2007

Poker News
Barry Greenstein is predicting the full return of online poker. (Of course, Greenstein is just another poker player with an opinion, but we'll see. I hope he's right, anyway.)

All In
